South Bay Driving School is amazing! All four of my kids went there, and they had fantastic experiences. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and make learning to drive stress-free. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a reliable driving school!
I just got my license, I couldn’t have done it without Nat! She was the perfect instructor, perfect balance between a friend and a teacher. She made me feel so confident in my driving skills and taught me the way of the road with the teaching lesson everyone looks for. Thank you Nat!
I took a stick shift class with Ali and it was perfect! I went into the class with a very basic understanding of driving a manual but had very little experience on the open road. We started in a nearby parking lot to learn the basics. Ali was very calm, supportive, and informative making this learning process as smooth as possible! After about 30 min we were out driving around Torrance on main roads and through neighborhoods. Ali would continuously commentate as I drove which was the perfect light reminder on how to approach every driving scenario. It is the most complete lesson i was able to find nearby, we even practiced hill starts which was something i was most worried about. By the end of the 2 hour lesson I was actually confident driving on the open road and even went out and test drove 2 manuals the next day! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn or simply build confidence!
I had a great experience with South Bay Driving School. I managed to passed the driving test thanks to them. When I first contacted them they answered all my question and were very helpful and polite. My instructor, Alfred, was very patient and confident. His attitude helped me relax and feel more comfortable driving. I could really tell he had years of experience. The tips and tricks he taught me were very useful. I took the six 2hrs lessons package so we had a lot of time to practice driving in many different types of streets and scenarios. I really felt he was teaching me how to drive anywhere, and not just to pass the test. My family was really surprise by how much I improve with even just the first few lessons. I highly recommend Alfred to anybody that is really nervous about driving.
Just passed my test, Nat was my instructor, super helpful. We went over all the nitty gritty things on the DMV test, very helpful, kind good people 👍

Excellent in-car driving school. The instructor drives to your home address in a regular looking car, no indication that a student driver will be driving. And as for getting an account registered with them, I recommend going in-person to get setup; considering all the data breaches you hear about these days, it's not worth the unsafe convenience of just texting sensitive information. I still say 5 stars because once you get setup, the instructor is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with making sure your form and safety checks are on point.
Avers Driving School provided a mixed experience for our teen driver. The positives: their use of unmarked, late‑model Subarus was great for making new drivers feel comfortable, and home pickup and drop‑off made scheduling very convenient. The first two lessons went smoothly, and the instructor was kind, patient, and attentive. Unfortunately, the last lesson was disappointing. Booking it was difficult, with a four‑week wait and no flexibility, forcing us to pull our student out of school for the only available time. During that lesson, the instructor spent part of the drive watching videos on their phone, which was unprofessional and set a poor example for a learner driver. They also ended the session 20 minutes early and gave inaccurate advice about the test route. Given that the final session felt like a waste and the overall cost was high compared to other schools, I can’t fully recommend Avers Driving School. The first lessons were good, but the inconsistency and professionalism issues ultimately made it not worth the price.
Patrick is currently teaching my mom to drive. I want to note that my mom has never driven before and doesn't speak English. She previously spent a bunch of money on private Russian-speaking instructors who taught her nothing and claimed she would not be able to drive at all due to her age. Patrick is very easy to understand even if your English is limited; he is patient, motivates, offers suggestions, and explains mistakes and how to correct them. I would recommend this school to our community from now on.
My girlfriend took lessons from this school, she passed first try and I knew she would pass by the second lesson as she was already very knowledgable and comfortable with the road. Before this school she was very nervous every time I took her to practice driving and now she is a happy confident and a knowledgeble driver and more prepared for the driving test than I ever was. The times I met up with them they were very friendly eager to help. I think this school is fantastic and would recomend it for anyone trying to get thie license.

The instructor was racist, insensitive, and stress inducing. Avoid this driving school.
My daughter was scared to begin this process. Our driving instructor put her at ease and made her a confident driver. We as parents were impressed by his professionalism and great teaching style. My daughter looked forward to the lessons and she was greatly prepared for the driving test. As a parent having your student drive is a nerve wracking experience but he made our child at ease with driving and has given me great piece of mind.
Franklin was courteous and punctual. He helped my family member learn how to drive and pass the test without issues. Highly recommend.
