Josef did an amazing job as an instructor. He was very patient and he made me feel a lot more confident about my driving. Overall I had a great experience with Oregon elite driving school, and highly recommend it to any one who is looking for a drivers Ed class. We had such an amazing experience with Oregon Elite Driving School. Josef is fabulous to work with, and all the drivers my son had made him feel comfortable and successful while still teaching him. We originally chose those route because traditional driver’s ed courses wouldn’t work with our schedule. But I think we will go this route again for my other two boys when it’s time. Thank you, OEDS!
Our son worked with Stan who was just incredible with him. My son was a nervous driver and Stan put him at ease and gave him instant confidence. He went on to pass his driving test with flying colors. In addition to Stan being an amazing teacher, he was also punctual and respectful of everyone’s time. He always took time to engage the parents before and after the driving lesson. OED is a wonderful company to help your teen learn to drive and I highly recommend them!!
My driving instructors were Josef and Trini and they were both so helpful in boosting my confidence to drive! They always spoke in a calm voice then giving directions and were patient when I made mistakes, they really made the experience of driving more enjoyable! I have avoided driving for a year despite having my permit because I was just too nervous to be on the road and constantly having brain fog on what signs meant due to the nerves as I drove. Now I'm excited to drive and am confident in my abilities to get in the car and know what to do! Thank you very much Josef and Trini, you guys were amazing I hope for your continued success!

Driving Diversity is the perfect place in Oregon to learn driving skills. I am now fully equipped with all the things I learned here. I had the best learning experience with Jose Gonzales. He is more than just an instructor. His commitment to his job is outstanding.

I highly recommend Driving Diversity! My son went through this course and we are extremely happy. Once our daughter is of age we will put her through this course as well. From the In home instructors to the on the wheel driving instructors we have no complaints. We are happy we found Driving Diversity.

Had my kiddo do her driving test with Pacific Driver as it’s impossible to get it scheduled with the DMV. Pacific was reasonably priced, it was easy to schedule, and most importantly the driving instructor/test person was really kind and knew how to put a teenager right at ease immediately. He also gave her a few tips to help her continue to improve. Would totally recommend
I would highly recommend doing your behind the wheel drivers test through pacific driver education rather than the dmv. super nice people!! My instructor was Skip and he was a very down to earth guy, he gave outstanding instructions during my portion of the test and explained at the end of the test how I can overall better my driving ability’s on the road even though I passed with little errors!! It was worth every penny to do my behind the wheel drivers test through this company.
Amazing Experience! I went here to get my driving test done… And let me tell you amazing experience from start to finish! I successfully passed my test and it just not because I practiced for over two years for this test, but because my instructor, Hope, was really nice and calm and that helped me stay calm and focused. My brother will be coming here for his test when he is ready… thank you so much!
Genuinely, everyone here is so incredibly kind. I took my drivers test and failed the first time. The person helping me made sure to explain why I failed and helped me calm my nerves for the next time. I passed just two days later! The man and woman who helped me were so kind, super welcoming, and helped calm my nerves. If you are someone with horrible anxiety (like me) I would highly recommend! All the staff are super understanding and friendly, I could not recommend this place more. Everyone here is fantastic! (Ps, my examiners were Hope and Skip:) y’all were super nice! Heads up! You'll want to book a DMV appointment for a day (or soon afterwards) after after your driving test date to get your license, just to be safe. DMVs and appointments are getting harder to access and many refuse walk-ins after a certain time. My experience at PDE was smooth sailing. Everything was just as described. The receptionist was nice, Skip the examiner was friendly and professional. The exam itself wasn't intense like I was worried about. I highly recommend them. Only thing I might change is upgrading the test vehicle to a Lamborghini 😎

I want to give a huge shoutout to Examiner 3 at the Pacific testing location for making my driving test experience smooth, fair, and stress-free. He was incredibly kind, patient, and professional, which helped ease my nerves and made a big difference in how confident I felt. This meant a lot because at the Beaverton location, I failed my first test due to an accident caused by another driver who hit us. Even though the examiner had a brake and could’ve prevented it, I was still marked as a fail, which felt so discouraging and unfair. Thankfully, Examiner 3 at Pacific gave me a much better experience. He explained everything clearly, remained calm throughout the test, and treated me with respect. I truly appreciate the way he handled everything and helped me pass with confidence. Thank you again—highly recommend this location and Examiner 3!

I want to start off by saying really Nice and professional people they do a great job at what they do. I finally decided it was time to get my license at age 50. I was really nervous! My instructor, Andrew immediately put me at ease. He was patient, friendly, and thorough. I took my test today after my 4th lesson and passed on the first try! Thanks Andrew!

From having limited knowledge about driving to getting my license in these 10 hours of practice. All thanks to Horizon for guiding me through and motivating me for passing my drive test. Really enjoyed my practice with Mohamed and Shane, highly recommend as the team holds the best knowledge and experience 🙏🙏
Pretty expensive, about a 100 bucks each lesson if you get the 10 package. Pretty informative tho, I had a hard time understanding the first instructor do to heavy accent, but the company was accommodating and gave me another instructor which I am learning alot from.
Prior to the lessons, I had very little to no driving skills. I really wanted to actually get on the road so I decided to seek out a driving school and Horizon Driver Ed gave me a great experience. During each lesson Instructor Kadir was very understanding, patient, and gave well instructions and driving tips. I was able to quickly get on the road and got to learn better driving techniques. Now I feel more confident in driving. Thank you Horizon Driver Education for your great service!
I had a really great experience! I've dealt with a huge fear of driving and the instructor Kadir was a very calm presence who did a great job reassuring me. I started Jan 2024 terrified and now in Feb 2024 I passed my driving test first try and significantly more at ease. Learning how to drive has made me a lot more confident in myself, which I am very grateful for! The scheduling is also very easy :)
I did a 4 hour driving lesson package with them and in the span of two weeks I went from pretty much no expierence, onto roads, got important feedback on what to work on as well as clear instructions on what to do and made some good progress. The employee's are pretty nice people and I would say it's allot more preferable and generally more deserving than larger businesses in the area that are pretty much only looking out for your money. I would absolutely recommend this place to the people I know.

Great place with many locations, Kris was super prepared, very professional, and greeted us nicely. He explained everything, and made sure my son understood. DMV was 5-6 weeks out. I booked my sons test a week before with ODEC. Great people, great organization, and affordable price.
I am new to America from UK so driving here is completely different. The ODEC and in particular my instructor- Adam- completely understood and accommodated my needs and anxieties. Adam was an excellent instructor- kind, patient (no question was too stupid!) and gave me fantastic tips and really boosted my confidence. My exam was with Ed and he totally put me at ease and was very kind, encouraging and professional. Overall a wonderful experience and a great start to my driving experience in America. Would 100% recommend (and I saw the Drivers Education class a few times while I waited and it sounded like a very positive and constructive experience for the young drivers) Thanks!
I had to leave on a sudden emergency road trip 1400 miles away. I did not want to drive without a license. I was able to get an appointment to take my driver's test at the Gresham office within 2 days! Not only was that fast but the office is only 15 minutes away from me. My tester Crystal was awesome! I was nervous at first but as soon as I met her I felt at ease. She is friendly and personable. I highly recommend taking your driver's test here! The $75 fee hurt but it was so worth it!
ODEC has gone downhill since COVID. Don't use them for your teen's driving training. Our other older kids had no problems with their course, but now (6 years later) it's a train wreck. The price has gone up quite a bit but the communication is terrible, the drive lessons are super hard to get, and your drive instructor will just randomly not show up without any notification.
The instructors leave students outside alone when it is dark and stormy and transients circling. The communication is lacking and the drives are almost impossible to schedule. The classroom time is mostly breaks and students were instructed to lie to police if pulled over. Not worth the money. And poorly run.

Scott is a great teacher. He is calm, and clear, and confident. He is honest and prepares his students to pass the test and drive safely. I enjoyed learning from him and have gained much experience from our drives.
Not to be dramatic, but Scott literally changed my life. He is THE best teacher ever. He gives the best advice/feedback, will make you feel more comfortable and confident driving, and is overall amazing. I've learned so much from him, every lesson I could feel myself becoming more confident in my driving. I have always had a fear of driving and thought I would never be able to drive on the streets, let alone get my license. After our lessons, I've been able to confidently drive on highways (you would've never caught me on there before) and pass my driver's test with a 100. I am so incredibly thankful that I chose the Behind the Wheel series and booked with Scott. I hope everyone who's considering getting driving lessons books with him so you can see how great he is. I will forever be grateful to 1st Learn to Drive and to Scott for being the most amazing teacher, I CANNOT express my gratitude for him enough. 5/5 experience!
I had Steve as my in class instructor and he really knew how to make 3 hours go by quickly. I learned a lot and felt like the time was well spent, not to mention he’s very funny. I also had Chad as a substitute a couple times, they both did a great job of making sure we knew what was going on. I had multiple instructors in the car, but I always felt like a safer driver by the end of the session.
Rachel is the best instructor ever, she was so professional and informative and her voice put me totally at ease I highly recommend Rachel
I had 3 appointments with Scott to prepare for my driving test (which I just passed yesterday!). I am 42 yo and held a fear of driving for a long time. I was a passenger in an accident years ago and though I’ve had a desire to drive, my fear had kept me stuck. Scott made me instantly comfortable. He provided clear instruction, was encouraging, but also firm in his delivery. He helped reframe the way I thought about being on the road and built my confidence in a practical way. I felt safe and secure with him as my instructor and knew he wouldn’t put us in danger. I am blown away that I have finally conquered this long standing fear and I am so grateful I got Scott as my instructor. Scheduling was easy, appointments were on time and it was completely worth the financial investment. I highly recommend 1st Learn to Drive and Scott. I didn’t think I would be ready to take my test so quickly going into this and am amazed that within a month, I am a licensed driver!

This is an exceptional school! The instructors care deeply about you and they want to see you succeed! Michael, Matt and Jeff are great instructors and have years of experience and knowledge that they are more than happy to pass on. They just want to see you succeed. They will do everything in their power to get you to pass the tests except take them for you. Do not go into this thinking it’s going to be easy. The instructors can’t hand you the answers they can guide you and instruct you on what you’re doing wrong, but in the end it is up to you as an individual to take the information in and apply it. It’s not easy, but it is 100% doable! Pay attention and listen and you’ll be just fine. One and done club 2023!

My driving lesson with Scott was amazing! He was very professional, and was on time to the lesson. He was patient with me and very attentive. He explained what would be expected of me on the upcoming skills test, and also helped ease my nervousness as he calmly guided me through the entire lesson! I'd definitely recommend enrolling with him for driving lessons!
I signed up for the 3 - 2 hour lessons. I had no real prior driving experience.I grew up in inner city Portland and had been a bicyclist for 10 years. The first lesson with Larry we learned the basics and went from there. Larry was a very helpful instructor who was calm and interesting to talk to. By the second lesson, I was already driving around the city and left the lesson feeling less stressed about driving. These driving lessons forced me to practice driving and I passed the drive test on the first try and issued my first driver's license at 27.
Absolutely amazing experience with 1ST LearnTo Drive! The instructors were so patient and encouraging, and my teen went from nervous to confident in just a few lessons. They made learning safe driving skills fun and stress-free — and my teen passed the test on the very first try! Purchased the 3 x2hr personalized on-road driving lesson package (3 sessions in total; 2hr per session). I scheduled each session flexibly. Scott, my instructor was very good. He helped me get extensive on-road practice, caught my errors and also gave me great tips/ advice. He did a few mock drive tests for me on my 3rd session; really helped boost confidence and rectify minor errors. I took my scheduled road test a week later and cleared it in the first attempt. Highly recommend!
Liz was such an awesome instructor! I looked forward to her class every week, and she was very patient with us. Our driving instructor chad was great too, and always made an effort to connect with us.

Michael is so caring about our daughter. She has had mental health struggles this past year and Michael has been more than willing to show forth patients, care, concern, and re-scheduling his time to help with her. She is not just a client of his but he has set his heart to become a friend of our family. His decisions are based in concern for our daughter rather than his financial benefits being a focus. It is a joy and a blessing to know Michael!
Michael has been great to work with. I've had all three of my boys receive lessons from him and so far 2 of them have successfully obtained their drivers license. I must give extra kudos as I have one child with severe driving anxiety and other child has autism. Not the easiest to teach but he has been patient throughout the entire process. He has made the lessons enjoyable and informative. As a parent, I've enjoyed the ease of communication and peace of mind in knowing Michael doesn't just want your child to pass...he wants them to be safe drivers afterwards. His availability and rates are great and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

I’ve had my permit since I was 17 always scared to drive decided enough was enough and hired motor palm. He worked with me every day and made sure I was ready and could pass my license test, and made sure I was comfortable with all sorts of driving situations. I’m very appreciative for all his hard work.
Mike has taught both of my boys to drive. His rates are the best around, but more importantly, his goal is not just to "get them to pass," but to create SAFE drivers! As a mom, this is what matters most to me. He is also offers a lot of flexibility with scheduling. He will be the first one we call when my girls are ready to learn.

I signed my daughter up for this class. The class is almost over and we are still trying to schedule driving lessons. She got one driving lesson, but is waiting to sign up for five more. I have watched their web based sign up form carefully and called the office a few times. There is never a time available to do the driving lessons, which is what we paid for. I feel duped. The lectures are reasonable but every kids I've talked to has said they are very boring.
I just tested today with Kris. I was an absolute nervous wreck, but from the moment I walked in Kris was super friendly and easy to talk to. This definitely helped ease my anxiety. The test itself went well. He provided clear instructions and was extremely friendly the whole way through the test. I could not recommend ODEC Beaverton more and if you have the opportunity to test with Kris, I highly suggest him!
I took my son to the Wilsonville location and Kris was very professional, fair and helpful my son feel relaxed while taking his driving test. I would recommend this location and examiner! We were greeted on time and did not have to wait to begin.
Don’t waste your time here. They canceled the first appointment after we were already at the offices because their driving instructor didn’t show up. The second appointment was 2 weeks later (after already waiting a similar amount of time for the first) and the driving instructor arrived late. ODEC stresses that if we wouldn’t have arrived 15 minutes before the appointment time our appointment would have been canceled. Huge double standard. The instructor directed to left turn on a yellow light. The situation was safe. However, at the end of the turn while the car was still in the intersection the light went red. This happened early on in the test, and classified as an automatic fail (which the instructor only tells you about after the test is completed), which means the rest of the test the instructor did not mark down a single positive or negative comment on their tracker sheet because she had already circled “automatic failure.” I’ve seen many other reviews talk about unsound left turns leading to an early failure. I should have done more research. It appears this is a problem with the organization as a whole. ODEC confirmed that to reschedule a test after failing you need to pay again. The test is $75. You will always be better off waiting for the DMV. Do not trust these people. I’m disappointed that I was obviously duped into a bureaucratic money-making scheme, and I’m frustrated that the DMV recommends this service.
My daughter tested in St. Helens. The tester dude was very professional and kind. Test vehicle was a hybrid Toyota corolla, very clean and conducive to success.

Poor management and lack of qualified instructors. The DMV no longer requires a written test after obtaining the permit, so save your money and time and avoid this bad place of business.
Our son enjoyed the class and instructor. We saw a dramatic increase in knowledge and driving from this class. It is also nice to have someone else teach your kids on this topic, we highly recommend Oregon Driver Training Institute!
Awful management and poor service.
Would've rated 0. - Generally poor communication - Generally poor management - Overall, unhelpful - especially when it comes to answering questions and concerns. Obviously, I say general because I know it doesn't encompass the entire organization but it only takes a bit to ruin the whole bunch. Unfortunate that I made the mistake of using them but you live and learn and make expensive mistakes.
Excellent program and great staff. Communication was also wonderful and they made this all very easy.

It was very easy to book with them, communication was solid from the front desk and examiner 3 was very fair and patient ! Passed my road test here i would definitely recommend.
We had a great experience. The gals in the office were fun, welcoming, and just so sweet. My daughter was super nervous and her drivers instructor was so great at explaining everything and allowing her to ask questions all the things. Love that they explain everything at the end too.
Very disappointed in the customer service of NW Drivers Ed, we met all the the requirements to receive a refund in a timely manner; was told it would take about 2-3 weeks(which seems pretty long to begin with). Waiting the above time and plus some, and have not yet seen a refund. Went in to their location in Salem, was greeted by friendly staff, and was given a business card with a number to contact upper management. After attempting to contact them with the information I was given, I have yet to hear back from them by email, phone call or text message.
If I could do negative stars I would I paid to do my test month ago went in they had a sign posted “due to weather conditions appointments after 3 we’re cancelled” nothing about they would reschedule nor refund. I never got a call, email ect. about my appointment being cancelled. So I’ve been out that money. I need my license for the job I have. And was gonna go set another appointment but looking at reviews this is not the right place to go. They do take your money and don’t refund nor tell you they canceled your appointment. SUPER disappointed. Wasted my money n my time.

I called to inquire information and It felt like they were not wanting to help or answer any questions. The lady Jen was rude and impatient. I asked her if she could take down my info and find some dates that work and she said “not at this very moment” and had a very poor tone. No person should talk like this to a potential customer. I do not recommend business with this company.
I had Jen as an instructor and it was the worst experience. Instead of helping me find solutions she scolded me for every mistake that I did. She wasn’t helpful and she made my driving experience terrible. I had a couple lessons from her and I dreaded each one. She’ll talk to me as if I was a child and was very demeaning. If I didn’t get something instead of sitting down and explaining it to me , she’ll bash me for it. I’m not sure who I can talk to file a complaint. But she’s not fit to instruct new drivers and I wouldn’t wish my experience on any new drivers. Very sad that I wasted my money to want to better my driving experience and I didn’t learn not one thing. Besides her making me feel bad about what I don’t know which was the sole reason why I went to driving school in the first place.. if you’re a new driver please go to someone other than her.. ZERO STARS DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I had a horrible experience with Jen L, at Westside driving school. She was very unprofessional and unfriendly like. Driving teachers should be respectful and patient right?? Wrong, not here! When I had my lesson with Jen she treated me like a child. Every five seconds she would take the steering wheel abruptly, not telling me what she was doing. Having bad attitude towards me due to my mistakes I made. SHE literally called my driving sloppy when I was trying to LEARN! She knew I didn’t have lots of experience but she continued using rude words towards my driving skills. The whole lesson was a disaster and the outcome was very discouraging and a waste of time. I didn’t learn anything from her. She rushed though the whole lesson, not having time for me to fix my mistakes or redo them. Very disappointed in this company. Jen has no fit as a driving teacher. I highly recommend using another driving school. Don’t waste any more of your time!.
So grateful to Elliot H. He was very patient and gave useful tips and much needed confidence which helped my spouse pass the road test with flying colors 😊
I cannot recommend this driving school & specifically Elliott enough! I am in my 30s and have had horrible driving anxiety since i was a teenager so learning how to drive was very touch and go. Signing up for driving lessons was the best decision I’ve made, i feel so much more confident driving, really understand the dimensions of the car and even got my license! Something i really didn’t think I’d ever actually do. 10/10 across the board and having the lessons start and end at my house made it so easy for someone without a car!
