Dina was amazing. My son passed her test today. She was extremely patient and explained to him after how he could improve even more on his driving skills. I will be recommending her and the school to all my friends kids that are coming up on their driving classes and tests. She absolutely made this nerve wracking experience an easy one. A++++

Today I passed my driving test, thanks to instructor Dane for teaching me, I was always scared to drive but after learning with him I feel so confident and I feel like I m ready to go on the road and thanks to instructor Dina for talking me through all the process before we start the test every thing was loud and clear … I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family

Came in did a drive test and got out in half an hour. Thanks to Dan everything went smoothly. Overall amazing experience, quick and fast, exactly what i was looking for.

I must say, best experience! Marissa is an awesome instructor, she ensures that one feels comfortable before starting the test. Her attitude made my test feel just like a normal safe and comfortable drive. Very professional. She's just a very good person.

I went here for the permit 30 required hours, and I'm glad I went! All of the staff including Becky(my teacher) were extremely nice and helpful. The activities teach a lot while not taking forever. 5/5 stars

DON’T GO HERE. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. When we first walked in I witnessed an instructor named Tracy yelling and shaming a customer. He was very disrespectful towards him, and wouldn’t offer any help. He continued to scold the poor customer about his past mistakes, saying he would not help him at all. It was insanely sad, disgusting, and disappointing to see. Not to mention, when my friend took their test Tracy was also very rude during the test. Told them to “speed it up” when they were already driving the speed limit. I also got stereotyped and was told I made Tracy feel “unsafe”, and that I had to sit down. He was very demanding and rude about it. I wasn’t doing anything to cause those feelings, so I feel like it was because of the way I looked, which really hurts. The customer service there is horrendous. As someone who took their test a couple of years ago, this doesn’t seem like a place wanting to help others get their license. I have never been so disappointed in a company. I recommend looking for a company that cares about their customers, especially if they are about double want some other places will charge.

Just passed my driver's test today with Robert as my examiner and he is just an all around funny, nice guy who makes you feel comfortable and makes sure you understand everything you need to do before you do it. I also had him as my instructor for one of my lessons and he taught me some very valuable lessons.

I recently had the pleasure of doing my driving test with Mr. Keith at American Academy, and I cannot recommend him enough! From the moment I met him, he made me feel completely at ease. It was my first time meeting him, but his kindness and professionalism made me feel like I had known him for years. This was actually my third time taking the test—my previous two attempts were at Monument with Road Star, and the instructors there were very intimidating. The atmosphere felt much more stressful, and it was a very different experience compared to what I encountered at American Academy. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with open arms. The whole team there makes you feel like part of a family, and that warmth immediately put me in a much more relaxed state of mind. Mr. Keith’s calm and encouraging demeanor made the whole process much smoother and more enjoyable. He is incredibly professional and knowledgeable, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students' success. I felt completely supported throughout the entire test, and his positive attitude gave me the confidence I needed to do my best. If you're looking for a driving instructor who is not only skilled but also friendly and approachable, Mr. Keith at American Academy is the person to go to! Thank you, Mr. Keith, for making my driving test experience so much better than I could have imagined!

Ilse was Very thorough and provided good feedback after the test. Her directions were clear and made it comfortable for me to understand. I believe she is very competent in her job.

My son did the driving school. Excellent instructors, my son was more confident and better driver because of it. My older children did other driving schools in co springs, but no where near the knowledge and qualifications the instructors had a Road Star. Excellent!! Recommend!!!

I would recommend this school for 100% to do your lessons and your test because it’s going to make you a real driver. The ambiance of the school the instruction everything is absolutely perfect to make you a responsible driver.

Very friendly n helpful people! Fair n professional testing. Relaxed n comfortable before, during, and after the driving test. Everyone felt like friends vs heavily 'official' or 'distant n unrelatable' GO there for your test.

I came here to take my driving test. Randy was my driving instructor, and he was very patient and kind. I did not pass this time around, but he gave me very helpful pointers and reminders to do better next time. I intend on taking my retest here as the experience itself was very comfortable. Thank you Randy and I'll see you again soon for my retest.

I did my driving test here at 1st drive with Randy! He is an amazing instructor and definitely learned a lot from him. He gave me clear and detailed instructions and also asked me if I had questions because he’s willing to answer everything thoroughly. He was so patient and that helped me throughout the test. Jessica was my son’s instructor. She was friendly, approachable and thorough in her driving lessons. She always provided ways for my son to improve and become a better driver.

After trying another driving school my sister was absolutely terrified and insecure to drive again due to the rudeness she had experienced from a instructor, we decided to give this school a try and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made! She went from not being confident at all in front of the wheel, to being confident and fearless! Her instructor Jessica is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, she was very patient and gentle and helped my sister get out of her shell! She taught my sister skills that help her be a good driver on the road 💜💜

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I had amazing time learning how to drive and passing the test with Drive-Right Academy. Peter is the perfect example of personable professional and he definitely knows how to approach every individual. I will be forever thankful for his patience and stress free attitude. His teaching skills made me feel confident and calm which was crucial for me since I had bad learning experience in the past. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that he knows how to create the perfect balance between teaching and making the atmosphere relaxed and tense free. He also has a great sense of humor which is a huge plus. :) I would like to give special thanks to Peter’s wife-Susann. She was extremely nice, helpful and always eager to answer all of my questions. Excellent prompt respond. I was able to pass the test on time and under 20 minutes. Instructor was very pleasant and professional. Smooth document delivery. Cheapest price in town. Very convenient and stress free. I’ll be taking my children there when they grow up!

My teen son took a stick shift class. From the first minute a very family feeling, Peter was easy going, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. Overall a great confidence-building experience for my son. I had driven stick for a decade and learnt key stuff myself! Will repeat with my other children for sure

I've been looking at driving schools for my son when we landed on and went with Drive-Right Academy and I couldn't be happier! It's a husband (instructor) and wife business, sweet couple. My son was super comfortable with the husband. Even got him on the freeway the first day. My anxiety just couldn't do it. 😄🤪 With the course we chose, they picked him up right at our house. It's a 2 day course and included the driving test. At the completion of the classes and test they give you a paper to take the DMV to get your license. Highly recommended! So much so I called them personally to thank them and told them I would definitely leave them a review.

Peter is an amazing teacher. Highly recommend his service. His price is reasonable, he teaches you patiently, and he makes sure you understand all the laws. He mentioned he was a former police officer so you’re getting great training! He really understand climate driving as well such as tips for snow and mountain driving. Prepares you for everything.

The guy that tested my son was super helpful. Also I think he put my son at ease before taking his driving test.

Staff have no clue how to time manage anything. First we had a scheduled perit test. The staff showed up 45 late. Then the in parking driving training was scheduled to last three hours. Each time the training was 45 minutes. Then the on street training had our learner wait 30 minutes past their set time. Now we had a 9 am driving test and once again the staff was 30 minutes late opening the office and we where told it would be an additional 30 minutes before they would even start anything. Highly unprofessional.

This place is fantastic! I've dealt mostly with Matt, but everyone I have ever spoken to there is always very nice and give superb customer service! Everyone is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process of getting a permit all the way through getting your child's license. They are so kind, understanding and patient. They have literally walked me through every step along the way. My daughter has also enjoyed her driving lessons with them and has always felt comfortable with anyone who was her drive instructor. I highly recommend Matt and his team at Academy School of Driving!

They are never open. They say they open at 9am but they haven’t been there at that time multiple days in a row. People make appointments, they take your money and aren’t there to do the service they took your money for. Just go to National driver training up the parking lot, they are actually there and communicate when they’re closed.

Very incredible experience. Highly recommend anyone to go here first. Service is impeccable and the professionalism is 10/10. The driving test instructors are some of the best in Colorado springs and are amazing at what they do. Best experience all around.

Its so funny to go through and read these reviews about how "I've been driving for 15 years der da der der der" LEARN TO DRIVE MY GOODNESS. If you didn't pass your test the first time then obviously you brought your bad habits to the test. My goodness take some responsibility and reflect on your performance. Just because yall have been driving for 15 years doesn't A. Mean you automatically get a license for taking a test and 2. Doesn't mean you know how to drive. All that being said my experience with the school was dope. They were able to get me in without an appointment even though it was busy. The test was faster than I thought and the whole experience was altogether a smooth one.

Connor and Cody are super helpful. We received more assistance in a brief conversation than the other company we used for the 1st drive test. Very chill, informative, and supportive, guys. My son decided to use this company for his next text as he felt this team was more honest and made him feel comfortable. *Leaving review prior to drive test, so you know it's an honest review of our experience.

Great experience at the Academy School of Driving on Dec 3, 2024. The two gentlemen who did the testing were very professional, polite and just all around nice guys who seem like they genuinely care about providing a good customer experience while offering excellent feedback to drivers. Normally I don’t write reviews due to potential harmful liabilities to a merchant, small business, etc. but thought that by writing this small review is most helpful to the general public. I recently visited this office and was greeted with such a hostile greeting, not friendly, rude but most importantly they lack professionalism. They proceeded to request a deposit for potential services that would be rendered, however the next day they were not able to render the services and would not surrender my deposit. I urge you not to support such practices, but rather take your business elsewhere. The use of profanity, unprofessional behavior and dishonest practice should be the reason why you should stay away from this business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My daughter took her driving test. The guy got mad at me for taking a picture before she drove off. Unfortunately, what I can see, i can video or take a picture of in public... rules and feelings don't trump the 1st amendment law that the Supreme Court ruled on...... so the instructors need not to make comments based on personal feelings or misguided rules.

I recently had a concerning experience during my driving test at this location. Despite having 6 years of clean driving history with no accidents or tickets, including extensive solo trips from Alabama to Louisiana and Georgia, the instructor's behavior was unprofessional and hostile throughout the test. The test vehicle itself was in poor condition, and I wasn't even able to properly adjust the seat. When I engaged the parking brake after parking - a legal safety measure - the instructor raised his voice at me, saying to leave it as I saw it when I entered the car. I moved into the middle of the lane for a smooth change, but my instructor scolded me for it. He claimed it was unnecessary because "no one does it," which seemed like an odd criticism of a safety precaution. The instructor claimed I drove below the speed limit, though I maintained the posted speed limits throughout the test. While I acknowledge making a wrong exit at a roundabout, his additional claims about missed stops and driving too slowly are unfounded. Most concerning was his statement that my driving "put him, myself and others at risk, due to me supposedly driving below the speed limit - a claim that contradicts my years of safe driving experience. Remarkably, he even blamed me for another driver's failure to use their turn signal, which was completely beyond my control, and a situation i believed I handled well. I regret not reading reviews beforehand, as I now see similar experiences from other customers. While I expect the typical defensive response from management (as evident in their reply history to criticism), I feel it's important to share this experience to help others make an informed decision. The disconnect between my proven driving record and the instructor's hostile behavior raises serious questions about the fairness and professionalism of their testing practices. RESPONSE: Don't lie, it's very distasteful. Yesterday you claimed I drove under the speed limit in school zones, and today you're saying I drove over—it doesn't add up. If I was rolling through every stop, the professional and safe thing to do would have been to stop me immediately, so why let me continue driving? And sitting at lights for an extra 10 seconds—come on, that's just ridiculous. As a company, perhaps you should reconsider showing your teeth for every bit of negative feedback, especially when it's honest rather than disrespectful. Be blessed.

Caleb and his team did a great job with both my son and daughter. My son took driving lessons with them as well as his cert driving and his test. Caleb made them feel very comfortable and he took the time to correct little things so they would not become bigger things.

Having a camera during the test does not prevent the fact that this person Jeff who Was the instructor for my daughter was mean and intimidated her before she even took off on her test.Before my daughter even got in the car he was being mean in his tone of talking. There was no opportunity verbally to kindly ask my daughter to get familiarized with the car, and he was very mean to her as she was trying to do what he was yelling at her to do and he had the nerve to say the young lady before her didn’t drive correctly & didn’t listen to him. he told my daughter to go left and then go right so it confused her right out to the gate. Using intimidating tactics on a young female is pretty rotten because everybody knows you’re not supposed to drive stressed out, but he made sure she was stressed out before she even left the parking lot. he was even trash talking the young lady that failed her test before my daughter , before he even got in the car with her . And he was saying that she better not be like her .The fact that I called and the lady was like we have everything on camera she went the wrong way is beside the point because when you rattle somebody like that, they’re not supposed to drive stressed but what is she supposed to do if she needed to take her test. Plus I know the lady lied to me on the phone ,because I said that the young lady before my daughter didn’t pass either and looked intimidated and then the woman on the phone said she did too pass and my daughter and I know she didn’t because we saw her holding back tears and we were standing close enough outside, we could hear all seven minutes of the man saying all the way she didn’t drive correctly . We carefully were looking at the body language and the face expressions and there’s no way that young lady passed under the same horrible conditions that my daughter did go through .We could hear all the scolding that guy was doing like he did to my daughter after her test and then we saw her and it may have been her mom go to the car and we saw the young lady crying and the mother held her hugging her gently for quite a long time and that’s not the human response to passing a test . The lady that I talked to was so mean, I really believe these people that run this business need to take an anger management class and the fact that they respond back in such a cruel mean manner no accountability and they’re not changing and we had no idea all the other reviews were just the same as ours. Please do not give this business your money or time .Please do not let your teen or young adult take there test here. My daughter has been driving over a year with me in our car & she drives well. financial reasons why we waited this long to afford the difference in car insurance. Jeff told her she was too spaced out in between cars when she was driving and it’s in the drivers manual you’re supposed to be a car distance away. She was . The school zone light was not flashing for 20 m.p.h give me a break. This was a rotten situation for my daughter and I don’t recommend any young lady to come here.wow, I called & asked the name of who was the instructor & my phone was on speaker with witnesses & we all heard crystal clear, that the instructor’s name was Jeff. Coward reply back to me & zero accountability.
