Absolutely amazing service. Instructor taught me from the absolute basics and led me to succeed on my driving test. Very patient, great teaching methods, and was attentive and able to give me suggestions and feedback to improve my driving skills. Update - I wanted to say another thank you for such good driving lessons! Your tips are still helping me and I feel safe and confident. I had a positive experience using Gmel driving and think it’s more affordable than many in the area. Thank you for helping me pass my test! I worked with Mr Nelson at first then Mr Gilbert took over - both were professional and friendly instructors. Mr Gilbert has a way of listening to you even when he does not immediately respond and making sure he answers your questions; he gave me good tricks for parallel parking and the like. Also accommodating with schedules. He can be quite firm when correcting repeated mistakes or a risky move, but I took it as constructive teaching. Overall a great school and I recommend!

It's not often a business has 200+ 5 star reviews, but Gmel Driving Academy does and the reviews are right! As an adult driver who hadn't driven in years and had no experience driving in DC, Gilbert was patient and gave lots of practical advice. He tailored the lesson to the things I wanted to work on, and he spent time making sure I felt comfortable. I hadn't driven in cars with modern cameras and parking assistance technology, but Gilbert's SUV had all these features. He taught me lots of little tricks and had me doing parallel and reversing parking perfectly in no time! Gilbert is a fantastic instructor and I can't recommend him and Gmel Driving Academy enough.
I am so glad I found Gmel Driving Academy! As an adult (female, mid-20s) with no previous driving experience, I was nervous, but Gilbert was incredibly patient and encouraging. From day 1, I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable, even when navigating circles or other tricky intersections. He was able to calmly help steer when needed and offered helpful tips and answered all of my questions along the way. His step-by-step approach to parallel parking made it easy to learn. Scheduling was easy, and a HUGE plus that he is able to pick up so you don’t have to travel anywhere. Gilbert is very personable and kind and made sure to take a break halfway through the 2-hour lesson. After 12 hours of lessons and practicing around the test center on the day of the test, I was able to pass on the first try! I enjoyed my time learning from Gilbert and would highly recommend Gmel, especially to adults who are learning for the first time.
Gilbert is a great driving instructor. I had no idea how to drive at first, and he was able to teach me from the ground up. He was very patient, and gave great instructions. I passed my road test on the first try due to his help. 10/10 highly recommend to anybody that needs to learn how to drive and is looking to take a road test!

If I look behind from the very beginning of the journey, I can't describe everything in just a word. I feel blessed that I found that school for my driving classes. From the very beginning Mr. teddy helped me so much. He is so humble and gentle. I really appreciate his patience. I can't thank him enough. I took 6hours lessons and an hour before road test with car usage. I got my license on my first try. If I want to talk about parallel parking, Mr. teddy's tricks and tips helped me practice in a way that built both skill and confidence. Though, I was bit nervous but I did it. I am really grateful for his guidance. He not only focuses on road test skills but also make sure that we learn all the fundamentals as well as safety. Furthermore, I would like to highly recommend this school specially for the beginners. It's the best driving school in DC and so reasonable.
Teddy was a very knowledgeable, calm and excellent teacher. He showed me all the rules that I would need to drive well in the US. He helped me regain confidence behind the wheels after I haven’t driven in a while. He made parallel parking easy and I’m glad for the ease steps he taught me. I feel confident enough to go ahead and take the DC road skills test for my license.
I had an amazing experience with Mr. Teddy at Star driving school! I bought 6 hours of lessons and he was an incredibly patient and thorough teacher throughout the whole time. He does a good job of making sure you learn the fundamentals and will tell you exactly what you are doing well and practice what needs work. He creates a nice and welcoming atmosphere which I really appreciated especially when I knew there were things I wasn’t immediately improving on and gave me the space to grow. If you are a first time driver I highly recommend working with Mr. Teddy.

I took the 10 hour driving course and the instructor Teddy did an excellent job in all the classes, giving you advice and correcting mistakes as you drive. They take you around the road test area and practice everything you need to do during the road test. Don't panic, the road test is easier than you think, at least in my experience.

i’m iam happy to submit my review with ethio star driving school i completed 10 hours of training with them and went to the dc dmv and passed my driving test with a 95% iam so happy and i will be telling everybody about this school!!
Ethio star has been amazing so far! Never touched a steering wheel before, and just by my fourth session with them, my confidence and skill level has improved a lot! Patient and skilled instructors!

Ethio Star is an incredible driving school. My instructor, Eyob is a great teacher. We worked on basic street driving, parallel parking, and highway driving. He is very patient, clear, and understanding. You will truly have a great experience with Mr. Eyob. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. One of the best teachers I've ever had, I highly recommend him.

Last Month In October I Set Up A Appointment Couple Days Before My Rode Test @ DMV. Hailu Was My Instructor He Was So Calm And Relaxed.He Help Me Prepare For The Road Test & Gave Me Good Driving Tips .I Was So Nervous But I Passed The Test And Got My Driver's License.Thanks Hailu!!

This is a very great driving school, the instructor is very patient with you and each and every lesson that you take he covers a lot. I did the 6 hour package and each time I got better and I was able to pass my driving test the first time!!!

I had a good experience in my first class with Michael, so I booked a package of three 1-hour classes. The system only lets you schedule one. Once I took the class, I expected some follow-up on scheduling the next, but I haven't heard anything, so I called myself with no response. I left my information in a voicemail, never heard back. I've been calling unsuccessfully for a while now and can't get in touch. If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is! Edit: After leaving this review, I heard back about scheduling the rest of my lessons.

I booked a session online and have been trying to coordinate with a representative to discuss more details. Called them several times to get no response. I drove with my husband to the physical location too only to not find it anywhere in the block of their listed address. Very mysterious and very frustrating.
I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Charles Smith from CAS Driving School. His behavior and teaching methods raised significant concerns regarding safety and professionalism. Unfortunately, Charles cannot be trusted driving his own car, let alone teaching others how to drive. He is rude and yells often. Charles might have been a good instructor back in his prime, but he is now too old to be teaching others how to drive effectively and safely. In sum, Charles as a driver is a potential hazard for pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers. As you can see from reading other reviews, Charles is often late to appointments and spends most of it on his phone instead. My last appointment with Charles was a 2-hour driving instruction appointment to be conducted in the area where the DMV conducts road tests. For at least half that time Charles was either texting others, making/taking phone calls, or handling payroll for his employees on the phone. Charles wears these in-ear headphones and sometimes takes the left one off, so you cannot quite tell whether he is speaking to you or on the phone chatting with someone else. At an intersection where I had a red light, Charles yelled, "GO!". I proceeded to hit the gas and almost got into an accident. Turns out he had just received a phone call and was saying "Go!" to the person on the other end of the line. Charles cannot be trusted to teach you how to drive properly. Charles's instructions were often contradictory, and his lack of attention made it challenging to learn effectively. His frequent phone usage during lessons felt disrespectful and unprofessional, leaving me to figure out many aspects of driving on my own. In conclusion, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Charles Smith as a driving instructor. His inattentiveness and lack of proper guidance made the learning process frustrating and unsafe. I will be looking elsewhere for proper instruction.
BOOK CLASS WITH ANTHONY the same day BEFORE YOUR TEST! I promise you will NOT regret it he teaches everything you need to know. I took a class before his and it was a waste of $ but when your with Anthony you will pass without question!!

TERRIBLE!!!!!! If I could give -5 I would. I scheduled a road test and they absolutely ripped me off. They told me that I “used too much caution”, on the phone call after my test and the instructor was commenting the entire time during my road test. When arriving at the traffic circle there is a yield sign. I stopped because there was a car coming around the circle and I did not know if they were going to continue going because they DID NOT have a yield sign; the instructor then goes on to say “why did you stop” as a “critique ” when as a new driver I should stop. He also said that I “used too much caution” when entering the parking lot at the end of my test, and because the cars behind me were honking. Upon entering the parking lot I was close to the curb, I did not touch, graze, scrape or go up on to the curb as I was turning the wheel to get further from the curb he proceeded to put his hand onto the wheeling resulting in me failing when this was not necessary. In the phone call he tries to use his “20 years of experience” to say that this was NOT a bad judgment call. Another one of the instructors called me a liar and at the end of the phone call proceeding to say “you’re making me sick”. There are many other things that were said during the test as well as during the phone call that were COMPLETELY unprofessional, disrespectful and did not provide a reasonable explanation as to why I failed my road test.
Wonderful Class!! Nice cars!! Good learning environment!! The videos and the lectures were very simple and educated. The teacher always asked for the student input on everything and put safety as No 1 priority!! He also made sure we took the following procedures to get our license! I would recommend this to anybody specially HS students!!!
Great Teacher, I had to go to college next week, I only had 3 days to learn how to drive and pass the test. Not only did I past the Test I Scored a 98. Don’t Think twice about booking with him. I booked the 10 hour package which I recommended at the minimum for new drivers. The price is peanuts to the outcome you’ll receive.
Highly recommend! Don’t even think twice before booking with Dexterity. Jules is a patient and strategic teacher, he first understands your weak points and then gives you the tools and practice to correct those. I took the 4-hour package and passed the driver’s test in the first attempt. Thank you, Jules and Dexterity.
