I'm from Michigan and couldn't be happier that I chose 160 in Fort Wayne for my Class A CDL. Their instructors have years of experience and give you the exact skills to pass the State Exam. Don't hesitate, this is a "Winning Team". Thank you 160!
First off, I paid for this on my own so I'm going to give a honest review and opinion.. 1. The first 40 hours of lecture ELDT was very knowledgeable if you paid attention, you will learn a lot from that. I thought there would be a actual instructor but it was all over zoom calls. James, the online instructor, was very knowledgeable on knowing how to get things out that are important. Overall, he was excellent at his job, only thing I would want more was for them to answer more of my questions that I thought was important for to ask. We had to be there at 8am but everyday we couldn't get started because we had to wait for the door to be unlocked by the branch manager. Class started at 8am btw on the 'zoom' so some stuff was missed cause we couldn't sign in on time. 2. The yard training was good when the instructors had time to get with you. They seemed overloaded with students and had barely any running trucks to practice in. Spending 5500 for each student you would think none of that would be a problem but it seemed 160 didn't want to fix trucks or hire more instructors for the amount of students they got flooded with.. 3. Instructors were great! When they saw you struggle they would take the time to help you and figure out what your doing wrong etc. Buck, AB, a Aron, and derrrik, were great to work with and always had a great attitude. They provided great words of encouragement before I even tested. Overall, I had a good experience but there was a good couple times a week I would wonder what I paid 5k on. The manager didn't seem very enthused that you're trying to better your life with a career change, and made it difficult to get ahold of him most of the time. It could've been better and a lot of room for improvement on their side.....
160 driving academy is a great program all the prosses are easy and all of the instructors are pretty cool. Recommend 100%

Both of my sons have been through this school and had very good experiences with the place. It helps if your kids have had at least some experience behind the wheel before enrolling them (if possible) but even without that, they do a good job getting your kids out and behind the wheel.
Very unprofessional. Pam was the worst instructor I ever met. Josh didn't care of his clients. So if you ever need a good driving school, please don't enroll in Safeway. Go to other driving school if you are seeking professional and kind people and will teach you driving the proper way. Safeway is very terrible! 🙄😔

Hey Josh lol this is Destiny but I just wanted to leave a good review & brag how exceptional this school is. Maddy did a wonderful job teaching the driving education class & Aiden, my instructor, makes me feel more than safe & comfortable while on the road. Josh always has good communication & calls very frequently to schedule lessons for me. The cars are clean & run very well! Everyone is always so nice & Josh stole one of my chicken nuggets yesterday. 😂 Nah I’m playing he asked, but yea definitely worth the $, & if I had children I would feel more than confident putting them through Safeway. 25 more hours to go! & I luckily get to take my licensing test through Safeway as well! Happy to learn how to drive here!
Great staff at Safeway driving school. Very knowledgeable and polite and professional. Would recommend to all people that are interested putting kids through driving school. Very reasonable price aswell. 👍

Awful customer service. Completely inflexible and inhospitable to those with alternative scheduling needs. No access to anyone else to discuss options for my daughter.
Those that I've interacted with have been professional. What I didn't find out until after we signed up my daughter was they won't schedule you more than 1x month and only when it's immediately before your 16 years + 3 months date. The whole reason I was signing them up for a class was so they could be taught some behind the wheel driving skills by a professional prior to the majority of my hours on the road with them. My boys did their behind the wheel training through our high school 6 days in a row about 9 months prior to their license eligibility. This was much more effective!
My experience has been very negative. They have had our child’s name wrong in their system from day 1. Each time we go in, about 4 times, they are unable to find the file because they aren’t capable of updating the information. We have been told conflicting information between the staff, as far as what paperwork we would need and when we would need it, It’s very frustrating. The gentleman who claimed to be the owner, refused to hear our concerns and was very rude and unprofessional, cutting off my wife when she spoke and just plain out being childish. I highly recommend you find a different driving school.

My daughter took her driver's education classroom and driving portion here. All of the staff have been so nice and patient! I like that she has different instructors when driving too since she has learned something different from each one! We will return when our other children are ready for drivers ed!
