The class I took kept me very engaged. Mr. Freese always kept me interested in his stories, and was always willing to answer any questions I had. After spending an extended period of time at Best Price on 7/30/2025, it's very apparent to me that Erika is the glue that holds this business together. Her patience, skill and ability to go above and beyond are hard to come by in this day in age. BP was extremely busy yesterday and Erika handled everything and everyone with grace. Erika deserves a raise! She's incredible!

I feel this was the best choice as an older learning driver(23). I had Brenda for all my driving courses &’ she made it comfortable and a smooth transition. She made it so I did not need to be nervous to drive. Great environment &’ Mr. Freeze is great &’ can keep the class fun while making sure you learn what you need.

Not impressed. Getting drivetime with instructors is few and far between it can take months for something to even become available. I don't feel like they are truly trying to prepare the children to become good drivers they just want to get them through the class and push them out the door. Too many students not enough instructors. I'm very frustrated.

Called to get information not on website. Owner tells me they are "the best". Okay, if you think so... Nothing on website states days or hours for scheduling the "one on one" driving times. Said it's "cost prohibitive" to discuss on the phone when the students gets the information in the class. I want to know details of what I'm paying for before I pay for it. Simple to me, difficult for him. He also enjoyed talking over me on the phone. Not cool.

As a parent and working mom, I can say I appreciate how they conduct business. The classes are at times that I can easily get my daughter to and the cost is more reasonable than others in the area. They have a good selection of cute cars and work well with teens. I'm pleased with the driver education my daughter is receiving here and recommend them to anyone looking.

Excellent! My son felt comfortable with the instructors and learned as much as he could. Thank goodness for driving lessons, took some pressure and stress off of me as a parent trying to teach your kid how to drive (yikes!). Everyone took the care required to ensure safety and followed COVID protocols.

This was such a great experience for our family. Austen was patient and helped my child who struggled with learning how to drive. I am thankful that we found Achievement and especially for Austen. With his help my child learned how to feel comfortable behind the wheel and successfully passed his test. Thank you Austen for all you did.

Instructor immediately accused class participants of having addictive issues. As far as I know, instructor is not trained in mental health or counseling. Very offensive but wait, it gets worse. Instructor continued to subject participants to sexist, vulgar, and totally inappropriate jokes throughout the 6 hour course, featuring a "dumb blonde joke" and a terrible, vulgar joke about our First Lady, Melania. This kind of offensive, sick humor has absolutely NO place in a professional learning environment. Instructor could barely stand, was frequently out of breath and had to sit numerous times during course. I enjoy jokes, but not during a class. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE. GIVE YOUR MONEY TO A TRUE PROFESSIONAL, NOT A RACIST, OBESE, VULGAR EXCUSE OF AN INSTRUCTOR . Classroom is small, seats are uncomfortable and tables covered in unknown sticky substances. Bathroom is located within classroom and every sound carries. BEWARE!

Turner School is, of course, convenient for kids going to Eldorado or nearby schools which is why a lot of parents choose Turner. They are dependable and reliable for their class room schedule as well as responsive and friendly. The only problem is the scheduled driving after the teen has completed the classes. You will wait up to 2-3 months before your child will receive any hands on actual driving instruction for the $300+ cost of this education. Which means the parent is the instructor (which we hopefully remember all the rules) during every day traffic and commutes until the school has an opening. Parents paid the school to teach our kids and they have provided acceptable classroom booklets and tests but they need to step up and provide actual real-life driving instruction quicker than 2 to 3 months. I was told the driving instructors are local coaches but that isn't a good enough reason to NOT teach our kids to drive when we've entrusted Turner to do just that within a reasonable time.

The entire staff was friendly and kind. Adult driving test took less than 10 minutes. Written test took less time than that. Thank you for making the experience painless!

Affordable to say the least, teacher's are experienced and reasonable. They acutely prepare beginners for the dangers, law, and safety precautions of driving. Even though they are excellent teachers organization seems to not be a priority. Waiting for several hours in an empty waiting room to take a test on a computer that isn't being used, and then being told to come back tomorrow is a time waster and incredibly inconvenient for students and their parents.

What a difference! My oldest son attended Old School of Driving. My youngest just finished up with Chamisa. NO comparison. It is obvious that the teachers at Chamisa are professional educators. Although they don't have regular day hours (they all teach at schools in ABQ), my phone calls have always been returned in a timely manner. They are flexible and understand the craziness of student schedules. Melissa shared with me that they tend to reserve Sundays as their day off for their own families and I respect that! I also learned that if any driving school has a class that is 2 weeks or less, it's illegal. Report it to the state (Old School). She took her time with me on the phone and answered all of my questions about the Real ID changes.

Good experience. Melissa is a great driving instructor. As a reminder, don't forget a quick glance when changing lanes!

My daughter really enjoyed her class. They were very professional. For sure a driving school I recommend to friends.

Melissa is awesome! She got me in right away for a test drive and when I told her I needed to take the written test at the mvd, she was more then glad to have me take it there so I wouldn’t have to wait hours & deal w./ the stress and anxiety of doing it at the mvd. Definitely recommend!

Not feeling good at all for signing my child up for this school. Can't call it a driver's school because they don't teach how to drive. Name should be changed to Chamisa School of driver's instruction. Everyone is nice and courteous but that doesn't matter since I am left to teach my child how to drive and I have not been trained to teach someone how to drive. This is one of the worst decisions I have made. Going to end up having to pay extra for someone to teach my child how to drive. So very disappointed. If your child has no experience at all with driving this is not the school for them.

Paid and never got the paperwork. Nasty attitudes, zero customer service and they rip off their clients

Alfred is a very unprofessional and rude. If you ask any questions at all he takes it as a personal attack on his intelligence. He yells and attacks teen age girls just for asking to get their certificate which was rightfully earned. Wasted money with no refunds. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!

I must say, I’m seeing a lot of surprisingly bad reviews. I had a more than great experience with this place. Maybe I just got lucky? Sierra was the Class Instructor, she was an absolute angel? Very kind and understanding and was able to make sure all the kids in a full classroom were catching the notes and learning what they needed to. She paid attention to detail for us. I felt extremely confident because of her teaching. As for the drive time: I always had Jocelyn (i think was her name) (the really short girl), and she was always wonderful to drive with. She was very calm with the way she instructed, very constructive & reassuring? i guess would be the way to put it? Instead of being nervous to be reprimanded when I drove wrong, she was very polite and understanding and was only focused on making sure I was understanding everything. It really only took us the first session for us to both be confident enough in my driving. She kept it fun while also making sure I was learning the ways of the road. It was like driving with a friend I’d known for years. I more than recommend Sierra and Jocelyn. They are so kind and helpful. I could not have become the driver I am without their help! Thank you & I will see you soon for my provisional!

Do you want your kid to be yelled at and berated when he's learning to drive, and also yourself when you try to schedule driving time? If so, this is the place for you! I myself do not. You can leave multiple voicemails trying to schedule drive time, then have the owner accuse you of "always canceling drive time." He will extort you for additional fees for it, too. There are multiple reviews at testing to the owner's MO of screaming, lying, and then trying to tack on additional fees or he will not provide any further lessons in being screamed at while learning to drive. If this happens, your only recourse is to document it all and send it to the TSC Driving Program through UNM Transportatiom Safety to get your money transferred to a school that won't literally scream at you. The owner will then claim you do not need to pay additional fees and he will be happy to scream at you, your family and your kid some more. But I wouldn't recommend you take him up on his offer.

Lisa and Jose have been wonderful! They are fair and are patient with my son and more than accommodating with our busy schedule. I would recommend them to EVERYONE!! My youngest will definitely be taking driving lessons here as well. Thanks Lisa and Jose!!

Beware of Duke City Drivers Ed, they will do sweet talk to get your business but will not giving continuous driving lessons to your children. I contacted them repeatedly to schedule drive times & they would text back saying they would call to reschedule at a certain time though no one ever did. My family member AJ contacted Lisa again and again but her response is I am overbooked and do not have availability for all driving sessions. This is a fraud as they even refused to return the money or give sessions. Owner LIsa is extremely rude & cannot be trusted.

-Update- Duke city is still a good driving school. But we've been trying to schedule more driving time for almost 2 months. We had to cancel twice because I was sick and we missed 1 too ( we paid for it and paying was completely understandable because we wasted there time ). They did call us back at 9pm but i was busy and couldn't answer it. There just needs to be an easier way to schedule driving time. James Bellinger- I was going to go to a different driving school, but i decided to go here. Going here was one of my best decisions ive made in a long time, everyone's friendly and nice, the teachers really do teach you, and its super easy to schedule drive time, 100% would recommend. :)

Just today I took my final step, my drivers test, to get my provisional, and I got to say not a single complaint. They treated me, my cousin, and a friend, better then a costumer, made sure to have plenty of water and food available, just in case we were hungry or thirsty after school, gave all of us some free subway cookie coupons every day during break and so forth. They even gave me advice about my first car! There were no problems with communication or drive times, and made sure we had courtesy reminders a couple of days in advance of drive time. Thanks to Duke City, I'll be driving by myself safe and securely!

We had a great experience with Duke City. My kids enjoyed learning to drive with Lisa and Jose! They are instructors who know how to capture their students attention through.the showing of videos as well as classroom activities. Lisa and Jose really care about what they teach and I saw how important it was to them that the students learned the material well. Learning to drive is not only a privilege but a serious life skill that requires serious learning and attention. I felt that my kids received quality driving instruction here that will carry them throughout their lives. I would highly recommend Duke City Driving.

McGinnis is the only place for anyone to take classes to prepare to get their driver's license. I took classes in 1976 when I was a teenager. I was 14 and 9 months when I completed my program and got my driver's license. Still remember what I was taught.

My kid has been coming here for 3 weekends and still hasn't gotten behind the wheel. Yet I'm paying 600 and class ends next weekend. I'm regretting it.

The owner, David, was beyond disrespectful and makes very rude remarks towards student drivers. His remarks appear to be sexist in nature and does not encourage young drivers to get ahead. Instead, he humiliates them by directly telling them, "bad driver" and, "no wonder you can't drive". I would advise anyone to avoid this place. More than likely, they are going to comment under my review as false, but it is difficult to neglect the reality when majority of the reviews align with what I am stating. I hope MVD does not continue to support them or someone else changes management because all I got after a phone call, was a person laughing on the other end.

Owner was just rude . Still got my license but barely. Makes very uncomfortable. Wouldn't suggest for new timers. I like his son Ryan though he's a great teacher!
